What We Do

Body & Paint Work on the Vehicles Most Shops Turn Away

Foreign and imported vehicles are not just regular cars built in another country. They use different manufacturing processes, different materials, and different repair specifications. Body shops that treat an Audi or a BMW the same way they treat a Ford end up with repairs that look fine but fail factory specifications. We do not do that.

Bodywerks has been doing body and paint work on foreign vehicles for decades. We have the specialized tooling, the manufacturer-recommended repair processes, and the experience to handle European, Asian, and luxury imports correctly. Whether your vehicle is daily driven or a weekend showpiece, we restore it to factory standards.

We work on a wide range of foreign and imported makes. If your vehicle has been turned away by another shop, or if you have been told the work cannot be done locally, call us first.

How We Do It

Why Import Owners Trust Us With Their Vehicles

01

Manufacturer-Recommended Processes

We follow the factory repair procedures published by the original manufacturer, not generic body shop shortcuts. This matters most on structural and aluminum panel work.

02

Aluminum & Composite Expertise

Many imports use aluminum body panels, which require completely different tools and processes than steel. We have the tooling and the training.

03

AkzoNobel™ Paint Used By Automakers

The same paint system used in factory paint shops at major European and Asian manufacturers. Import color matching requires this level of precision.

04

Dealer Parts Coordination

We work directly with local dealer service departments to source correct factory parts. We do not use aftermarket parts on imports unless you request it.

05

Decades of Import Experience

Foreign vehicle repair is not a side service we picked up recently. It is part of the work Bodywerks has been doing for decades.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Import Repair

Why do foreign vehicles require specialized repair?
Foreign and imported vehicles use different materials, manufacturing processes, and repair specifications than domestic vehicles. Many imports use aluminum body panels, advanced composites, or high-strength steel that requires specialized tooling and training to repair correctly. Generic body shop processes can pass a visual inspection but fail factory specifications and compromise the vehicle's structural integrity.
Do you work with insurance for foreign vehicle repairs?
Yes. We work with every major insurance company on foreign vehicle repairs. We document the manufacturer-recommended repair processes for your specific vehicle and negotiate with insurance to ensure the work is approved and properly funded.
Can you source factory parts for my import?
Yes. We coordinate directly with local dealer service departments to source factory original parts for your import. We do not use aftermarket parts on imports unless you specifically request and authorize it.
How do you handle aluminum body panel repair?
Aluminum requires completely different tools and processes than steel. We have the specialized welding equipment, riveting tools, and isolated workspace required for aluminum panel work to prevent cross-contamination with steel particles. Our team is trained in manufacturer-specific aluminum repair processes.
Will my factory paint color match exactly?
Yes. We use color match camera technology to capture the exact factory color profile, then mix and apply using the AkzoNobel™ paint system. Even on faded or rare imported colors, the match is precise.
Can you repair Tesla and other electric imports?
We handle body and paint work on Tesla and other electric vehicles. For high-voltage system work or electrical components, we coordinate with certified electric vehicle technicians. Body, structural, and paint work on EVs is handled in-house.
How long does a typical import repair take?
Import repairs typically take longer than domestic repairs because of parts sourcing and the additional care required in the repair process. Most import collision repairs take between 7 and 14 business days. We provide a clear timeline at your estimate appointment.
