What We Do

Paint Work Done The Right Way

Bodywerks handles every type of paint work, from single-panel section blending to full vehicle repaints. Every job uses the AkzoNobel™ paint system, the same system used by manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Ford in their factory paint shops. Combined with our color-match camera technology, we match your factory color exactly, every time.

What sets our paint work apart is what happens after the paint is applied. Most high-production shops spray the clear coat and send the car out the door. We sand every clear coat by hand to remove orange peel and surface imperfections, then polish for a true factory mirror finish. It takes longer. It costs more. The result is a finish you cannot get at a volume collision shop.

How We Do It

Our Custom Paint Process

01

Color Match & Scope

Using color-match camera technology, we capture the exact color profile of your factory paint, even on weathered finishes, and confirm the paint code and scope with you.

02

Surface Preparation

The most important step in any paint job. We sand, fill, and prep every surface to the appropriate grit using 3M sandpaper. We do not cut corners here.

03

Primer & Base Coat

We apply manufacturer-grade primer, then the base color coat in our climate-controlled booth, mixed to the exact code and applied in the proper passes.

04

Clear Coat Application

Multiple coats of clear are applied over the base color to seal, protect, and give the finish its depth. This is where most paint jobs end. Ours does not.

05

Clear Coat Sanding & Polishing

Once cured, we hand-sand every panel to remove orange peel, then polish to a true factory mirror finish. This is what separates our paint work from chain shop paint work.

Why Bodywerks

The Difference Is in the Clear Coat

01

AkzoNobel™ Paint System

Used by factory paint shops at major automakers. Industry-leading color accuracy, durability, and finish quality.

02

Color-Match Camera Technology

We scan your factory paint to capture the exact color profile, then match it precisely. Even on faded or rare colors, the match is exact.

03

Factory Mirror Finish

Every clear coat is hand-sanded and polished after curing. This is the step that turns a good paint job into a great one. Almost no high-production shop does it.

04

3M Sandpaper & Finishing Materials

Industry-standard finishing supplies on every job. Cheap sandpaper leaves scratches. We do not use cheap sandpaper.

05

Climate-Controlled Paint Booth

Controlled temperature, humidity, and dust filtration during application. Paint quality depends on the environment as much as the technique.

06

60 Years of Paint Experience

Our team includes painters with decades of craftsmanship, including team members with 40-plus years of experience. Every clear coat passes through experienced hands.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Paint

How long does a full vehicle repaint take?
A full vehicle repaint typically takes 2 to 4 weeks depending on the level of preparation required, the complexity of the color, and the scope of any body work that needs to be done before paint. We provide a clear timeline at your consultation.
Can you match my factory paint color exactly?
Yes. We use color match camera technology that scans your existing paint and captures the exact color profile. This allows us to match factory colors precisely, even on older vehicles where the paint has weathered.
What is clear coat sanding and why does it matter?
Clear coat sanding is the process of hand-sanding the clear coat after it has cured to remove orange peel and surface imperfections, then polishing to a mirror finish. Most high-production shops skip this step because it is labor-intensive. We do it on every paint job because it is the difference between a good finish and a factory-quality finish.
Can you paint just one panel and match it to the rest of the vehicle?
Yes. Section and panel blending is one of our most common paint services. We blend the new paint into adjacent panels so the repair is invisible. This is the standard for collision repair paint work.
Do you do custom colors and specialty finishes?
Yes. We can match custom colors, mix specialty finishes including matte, satin, metallic, and pearl, and create custom paint work for restoration and enthusiast projects. Call us to discuss your project.
What kind of paint do you use?
AkzoNobel™, which is one of the leading automotive paint systems in the world. It is the same paint system used by major automakers in their factory paint shops. The color accuracy, durability, and finish quality are industry-leading.
Do you warranty your paint work?
Yes. Our paint work is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee. For as long as you own the vehicle, our workmanship is guaranteed against defects in application.
